The training plans are designed to be in three consecutive phases.

Foundation Plan

THE FOUNDATION PHASE (6-14 Weeks)

Like any structure that we want to build on, the foundation is the key to this stability. Your racing and in particular you’re A-race for next year must start with a sound foundation if you want to be more economical, injury free and faster. Learn more >

Winter Plan

THE WINTER PHASE (12 Weeks)

Fitness, fitness, fitness… Winter training is all about developing your all round fitness for Triathlon. Yes you have to take into winter things you have learned or built on in the Foundation phase however holding this new learning under greater pressure. If preparing for an Ironman or 70.3 it’s key that you don’t over run or over bike on duration. Whatever distance you’re training for you need to have enthusiasm at the start of the 12-week preparation phase. Learn more >

Preparation Plans

THE PREPARATION PHASE (12 Weeks)

In both foundation and winter phase, each athlete will be working on basically the same skill acquisition and improving their endurance physiology (with different weaknesses and strengths), preparing themselves for the final phase into their main event. The Preparation Plan, this is where your training becomes specific to you and the race distance you wish to cover. The key is 1) You’re not injured, 2) You’re enthusiasm is high and 3) Technically you are sound. Learn more >

I USE TRAINING PEAKS TO MANAGE MY PLANS


I use leading industry platform Training Peaks (TP) to manage all of my training plans. You can make TP as complex or as easy as you wish. There are some cool free features with TP however you can also upgrade and use their more advanced features.
